Inkprint Press Official Opening Sale!

Inkprint Press has a fully functioning website at last! To celebrate, all books are on sale for 50% off RRP. The sale concludes Monday November 16 AEDT (Sunday Nov. 15 10pm EST). Additionally, whenever you buy ebooks direct from Inkprint Press, you will receive both the .mobi file and the .epub file together, at no extra cost!

Inkprint Press is a small independent publisher, publishing science fiction, science fiction romance, and fantasy for adults and young adults. At present offerings include short story collections and novellas, but plans to publish some novels are underway.

Inkprint Press’s online shop (www.inkprintpress.com/shop) sells ebooks and signed bookplates, and plans to offer print brooks (both signed and unsigned) from early next week. These print books will come with gratis copies of both the .mobi and .epub files for readers who like to carry their library with them, or to donate to a friend.

Watch out for the addition of more book-related items over the coming months!

For more information, head to www.inkprintpress.com, or sign up for the mailing list at www.inkprintpress.com/subscribe

*******************

For those who weren't already aware of this change, Heroes and Villains lost it's press in the spring. Breathless Press closed their doors and left me without a publisher. After some debate over what to do my twin, Amy Laurens, and I joined forces to create our own press and distribution site.

You can buy our books directly from us on Inkprint. No Amazon worries. No overhead. For us it means pure profit because these books are already ready to go. For you it means being able to get exceptional deals like EVEN VILLAINS FALL IN LOVE for 50cents.

The print editions will be going up in the next few weeks. When you buy a print book from Inkprint you'll receive the digital edition as part of the price. Print and ebook all in one nice bundle.

Eventually we'll be offering other fun things from our shop: bookplates, mugs, and much, much more!

The Surprise Pre-Order Button

There I was, quietly minding my own business and setting up buy links for EVEN VILLAINS HAVE INTERNS when I saw this little curiosity...

My book, my book, my teeny-tiny short story, my first published short story, also my book, and... white space? What is this white space?

Honestly, my first thought was that I'd set up a book and quit halfway, but somehow published it. That seems like a very ME thing to do. And I have a book that's quietly lurking in the shadows waiting for a chance to hit the self-pub shelves. So I clicked on the faceless book...

You know what that is? It's a pre-order button for JANE DOE: THE DAY BEFORE.

JANE DOE is being published by the Voyager Impulse line of HarperCollins which means it's digital first. The ebook is $3.99, and the paperback will come out later retailing for (I'm guessing) $6.99.

The preorder buttons are live and you can get it at:
Barnes and Noble
Amazon
Kobo

Breathless Press Book Sale!

Picking up an e-reader this holiday season? They're not bad devices, especially if you're like me and move every few years. Take it from someone with over two hundred pounds of unpacked books in the basement: books are heavy! E-readers allow you to carry hundreds of books in your hand.

Personally, I read on my large screen phone. I have multiple reading apps so I can take advantage of the sales, and I love it! Stuck in traffic? Read. Stuck in a waiting room? Read. Stuck at a boring party? READ.

Holiday sales are a great way to stock an e-reader for you or a friend. Breathless Press is having their annual Black Friday sale with everything 50% off and free shipping on print books. That means you can pick up a lot more books for a lot less money.

Happy 5th Birthday to Breathless Press!

Five years ago Breathless Press opened the doors with little more than a hope and a dream. Years of hard work, great editors, astounding authors, and more hard work have paid off and now Breathless Press is the place readers go to find the best books around. Well, one of the places. Let's not quibble.

Breathless Press is also home to my Heroes and Villains series starting with EVEN VILLAINS FALL IN LOVE, followed by EVEN VILLAINS GO TO THE MOVIES, and the soon-to-be-released EVEN VILLAINS HAVE INTERNS (release date pending). And, do you know what happens when presses celebrate birthdays? They have sales!

Everyone who doesn't love cheap books, raise your hands.

*crickets*

I thought so. Everyone loves books on sale! I love them. You love them. Great Aunt Mable loves them. Even my MeeMaw who might shoot you if you tried to buy things at full price loves them! And MeeMaw doesn't love much.

Now, let's try another group exercise. Who has four dollars? Who has four American dollars they do not need to make rent, pay bills, or buy food? Okay, everyone who has their hands raised, click THIS link.

All Breathless Press books are 50% off in August to celebrate their birthday and that means you can pick up both Heroes and Villains books for just $4. Pretty snazzy, right? Two books, four dollars. Heck, for you coffee drinkers out there that might be cheaper than your morning latte. For everyone else, that's at least two hours of entertainment for the half the price of a movie ticket. And I promise the writing is *way* better than that one movie you hated.

Go on, buy yourself a book. You deserve a treat today. :)

Read An E-Book Week!

Sweet! It's Read An E-Book Week hosted by Smashwords (the boon of self-pubbers and small presses everywhere). To celebrate, my publisher has listed ALL their books 25%-50% off until March 8th!

That means you can buy EVEN VILLAINS FALL IN LOVE and EVEN VILLAINS GO TO THE MOVIES on sale! Who doesn't love a sale?

EVEN VILLAINS FALL IN LOVE (Book 1)
EVEN VILLAINS GO TO THE MOVIES (Book 2)

Code: REW50 (site-wide 50% off - go crazy and get yourself some books!)

And when you're done shopping, be a sweetie and leave a review? Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, ARe, your blog, or anywhere else it suits you. I love reviews! Even if you hate my book, leave a review.

Reviews are the best way for a reader to let the author know what they love or hate in a series. Sometimes it won't change a thing (especially if your a George R. R. Martin fan), but it can make future books better. So let me know what you think. :)

Happy book shopping!

Books Are Better Than Chocolate

Chocolate is delicious. There's no denying the fact that most people enjoy a good chocolate confection at least once in their life. But, as presents go, chocolate is... dare I say weak?

Chocolate doesn't last. It isn't a diamond that will sparkle for years to come.

Chocolate doesn't improve your health. Tasty as it is, flowers are scientifically proven to be better for your health (looked at or eaten as it turns out).

The sad truth is, chocolate is the worst gift to receive for Valentine's Day. Especially if it's the kind in a heart-shaped box from the drugstore on the corner. That stuff's barely better than tile grout. No, if you want to show your beloved that they are truly special you buy them books.

Books! It's liking buying someone an extra life. A book can transport you to another world. A book can turn a pauper into a prince. Why, even your beloved's world of choice on a silver platter can't compare to universes you can give them with a book!

Do they want dragons? Spaceships? Essays? Recipes? Animals? Books can give you everything!

And no one complains if you have more than one Book Boyfriend.

So - single, dating, exclusive, committed, complicated, or enjoying multiple partners - treat yourself and the ones you love to a book. Worst case scenario: you spend all the money on your books because you don't have to share.
