Thank Goodness It's Friday!

Last Friday was a little bit crazy. Just a teensy tiny bit. I was squished between back to back birthdays for Eldest and Baby Boy. One turned eight, the other turned one.

That is a genuine watermelon cake, by the way, don't you love the realistic colors? The inside even tasted like watermelon!

My Secret Recipe For First Birthday Cake:

- Take 1 watermelon
- Cut into rounds
- Stick in a birthday candle
- Enjoy!

I feel clever!

Writing This Week: I think I'll top 10,000 words since Monday before I go to bed. I've been writing an insane amount, for me. This is probably the kind of schedule a real author who is paid to write keeps.

You know what? All the drama aside, it isn't bad. Writing a little over 2k a day isn't that hard. I can't do it all in one sitting, but I can write, get the house clean, and get to bed at a decent time if I stay focused.

Random Chaos of the Week:
Our older dog, Sage, returned to her previous owners on Thursday. She's 9 years old and wasn't getting along with BB. She's going to a home with no children where she can enjoy the golden years in peace and quiet.

Random Plans for August: I would really like to hold a contest for my birthday on the 16th, but I don't know what to do exactly. Books? Socks? A critique? All of the above?

I'm wonderfully undecided. Keep an eye on the blog for upcoming news.

Also upcoming in August will be part two of the Sustainable Living series, maybe a post about the age of your novel (see comments trail on chapter 42 for a clue), and more rants on editing and writing as I try to clean up Twisted metal, and write Jane Doe.

  1. Isn't it funny how much little ones adore watermelon? My almost 9 month old nephew has no teeth but loves to gum the watermelon and let the juice run all over him.

Hope the weekend is enjoyable and productive for you!
