But, I signed up! So here I am.
Let's talk holidays.
I LOVE holidays. Not all holidays, not even most holidays, but I do love SUMMER holidays. Barbeque, fireworks, beaches... oh, yes, I love summer holidays. During the summer I swap my brightly colored socks for eye-popping nail polish and hit the beaches. There's nothing I don't love about blue water, white surf, and tan surfers flexing their muscles to impress me.
Winter holidays on the other hand? Don't make me laugh! I'm not called The Grinch for nothing. Even my kids call me The Grinch. One year I went so far as to cancel Christmas. I rescheduled it for January with a triple-snap of my gorgeously painted nails. "Ha!" said I. "There won't be Christmas in this house this year!" And there wasn't.
How can you enjoy any holiday when your toys are turning blue and you're in danger of frostbite?
Of course, if you have a special someone in your life I suppose there is the possibility you could stay toasty warm. "Oh the fire is slowly dying. And, my dear, we're still good-bying..." Uh-huh. Is that what kids are calling it nowadays? I bet you were Good-Bying... good-bye to your shirt, good-bye to his jeans, good-bye to that cute lacy bra...
After all, everyone knows the best presents are the ones you can't buy in the store.
Now, be good little Grinches and tell me what warms you up over the holidays. Be sure to leave your email address with your comment ( name at yahoo will do) so I can contact our winner. The prize will be a pair of fuzzy socks to keep your toes warm, some chocolate, and an ebook copy of EVEN VILLAINS FALL IN LOVE.
The #HolidayHop also has grand prizes:
1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet
2nd Grand Prize: A $200 Amazon or B&N Gift Card
3rd
Grand Prize: A Swag Pack that contains paperbacks, ebooks, 50+
bookmarks, cover flats, magnets, pens, coffee cozies, and more!
EVEN VILLAINS FALL IN LOVE
A super villain at the top of his game must choose between the world he wants and the woman he loves.
If you believe the rumors you know that Doctor Charm, the wickedly sexy
super villain, retired in shame seven years ago after his last fight
with the super hero Zephyr Girl. The fact that the charming Evan
Smith—father of four and husband of the too-beautiful-to-be-real
Tabitha—bears a resemblance to the defeated Doctor is pure coincidence.
And, please, ignore the minions.
Everything is perfect in the Smith household, until Tabitha announces
her return to work as a super hero. Evan was hoping to keep her
distracted until after he rigged the presidential election, but—genius
that he is—Evan has a backup plan. In his basement lab, Evan has a
machine whose sole purpose is keeping Tabitha hungry for him.
But children and labs don’t mix. The machine is broken, and Tabitha
storms out, claiming she no longer knows him. World domination takes a
back seat to meeting his daughters’ demands to get Mommy back right
now. This time his genius isn’t going to be enough—he’s going to need
both his evil alter-ego, and the blooming super abilities of his
children to save his wife. But even his most charming self might not be
enough to save their marriage.

What warms me up over the holidays is a mug of hot chocolate with little marshmallows and a cozy fleece blanket. Although with our new heater I don't need the blanket so much. A soft fuzzy sweater is good too but again don't need it in the house. For outside, I have my (reversible) fake fur coat. So warm to snuggle into since I have the fur on the inside.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like the most about Christmas, and warms my heart, are all the pretty lights and decorations, the music, and the smells of goodies baking. Also eating the goodies but have to watch how much I snack so I don't sugar overload.
Email is redvixen_horn@hotmail.com
Thanks for doing the hop! I tend to resort to cocoa a lot during Christmas ;)

LOL, I certainly can understand that, I don't like Winter at all. I hate being cold.
ReplyDeleteWhat warms me up well, cozing up with my honey whether it be on the couch or bed :).

What keeps me warm is not leaving the house. It is frigid cold in Wisconsin and I am not a Winter girl at all. Coffee and my bed with a good book are always something to keep me warm on those cold dreary days.

A good story, a hot drink keeps me warm, during the holidays as during the whole winter. And I tell you, it's really winter in Helsinki, where i live. Freezing!

One of my favorite Christmas Romance Books is The Untamable Rogue by Annette Blair! The story is about Ashford Blackburne Fifth Earl and he has to get married and get his willing bride pregnant before Christmas or his grandfather won’t let him inherit his money. Ash truly needs to inherit the money because his late father squandered it all away and he is taking care of his mother. After getting stood up at the alter, again, Ash and his friends go to the local pub where the owner plays a drunken Ash in a card game…his consolation prize is the pubs daughter Larkin, who he wants to get ride of. Ash has to learn to forgive…Larkin has to learn how to trust…can two completely different people find love together. This is a cute, extremely funny, romantic story with a surprise Christmas ending!
