Wait... it's Friday?

Really? I thought yesterday was Friday and couldn't figure out why I didn't have the Random up! Long weekends can do that to a person. :o)

Random Project this Week: The bookcase... it's 1/4 done!

Random Plans for this Weekend: The Ren Fest and maybe the beach... I love long weekends!

Random Writing this Week: Only about 5k done. I can do better. I need to do better, I'm just stuttering over this one scene.

Random Question of the Week: What do you do when you hit a hard-to-write scene? Skip it? Cut it? Rewrite endlessly? Plow on through and hope for the best? Help me out here, because I don't know what to do with this scene.

  1. Call me delusional, but I just keep on writing hoping that in retrospect it won't be as horrible as I think it is. Good luck with the scene! (And with all your other projects!)

  2. What do I do when I hit a hard to write scene?

I take a bath. Seriously. Bubbles and all. For some reason the water seems to relax me and allow creativity to flow.

  3. I walk away from the computer and do something mindless - like gardening or cleaning - for a few hours and mull the scene over. If I'm still stuck, I make note of what needs to happen in that scene in the file and move on. Though, that usually leads to frustration when revising later. Better to plow through it now if you can.

  4. What's a Ren Fest?

Hard to write scenes...I do plough through it. I keep attacking it until I have an acceptable (for draft) piece of writing.

I'm a writer who likes to write in order.
