Hello!

Contrary to popular belief I am not dead yet. I'm simply overbooked. Very, ridiculously, almost painfully overbooked. Somehow I decided that blank days on the calendar would be a bad thing because the kids would be bored and bored children tend to do dangerous things like color on walls, cut my computer cords into different lengths, and summon demons from the ninth hell*. The obvious solution to this was to keep the schedule as packed as humanely possible so that the kids couldn't cause any trouble.

Go ahead. Laugh. I deserve it.

If I'd thought about this logically I would have realized that Summer = Chaos and nothing can change that equation. Not play dates. Not picnics at the park. Not even a full morning of gymnastics can keep the chaos from happening. You'd have better luck stopping time or speeding up the harvest.

And then there's my book pile. Currently in the To Be Read pile are:

STEADFAST: The Lost Fleet Beyond The Frontier by Jack Campbell
SKIN GAME by Jim Butcher
THE GRIM COMPANY by Luke Scull
GRAVE MERCY by Robin LaFevers
FORTUNE'S PAWN by Rachel Bach
and all the Hugo original fiction nominees from Tor because they were free to download last week

And then there's the writing to do. So. You know. BUSY!

What are you up to?

*One of these things did not actually happen this week, but it's only Wednesday.

  1. Hey, Skin Game is on my reading list too! I am the first person to read the brand new hardcover from my library, which is kind of an awesome feeling. And oh yeah, I have all the Hugo nominees to, because I'm a voter...the entire Wheel of Time Series. Ayi. O.O

    1. I have part of the Wheel of Time series but never read it. Let me know what you think. :)

  2. Let's see, I'd say they didn't summon a demon from the ninth hell. I think they can only reach the seventh hell right now. Maybe by summer's end they can reach the ninth.

If that didn't come across as funny, sorry. My sense of humour is going to be even more out of whack for a while. I live in Moncton and was in the locked out zone.

    1. I thought it was hilarious!

*hugs* I'm so sorry for everything that's happening/happened up there. Stay safe and know our prayers are with you and yours.

    2. We're safe. Everyone's safe now. Just dealing with the after effects as people deal with it. We have a more stable attitude because we've lived in big cities where such things can and have happened (the shootings not the lock down) but Moncton is the last place I ever expected to have something like this occur. Right now I have to hold on to my patience as the rest of the city over reacts because 99% of the residents never thought this could happen.
