Chapter Forty

I HATE rough drafts!

Oh. My. Word! This chapter a day is killing me! I don't have time to go back and re-edit. I can't take three days to work out the details of a fight scene. Everything I write feels forced and stale. i absolutely hate this!

*burns chapter forty*

I know the whole point of editing is to make this less rough and sucky, but I hate that there even have to be rough drafts. The scene is so amazing in my head, why can't it be equally amazing on paper?

Chapter forty is done at a little over 2k. I hate it. I want to rewrite and rework. I want to throw the manuscript in a fire, even if it does mean printing the whole dern thing.

But I'm pushing on. Editing can fix this... right? RIGHT???

Ugh.

On to chapter 41.

  1. Hahaha, Amen! But at least this is just the writing. Can you imagine going back to edit it? Yuck. That's the worst part, in my opinion.

  2. Vicky - I know it's coming. Saturday night, this whole manuscript gets formatted and printed so I can arise early Monday morning, wave the kids good-bye as the school bus rolls out, and tear the still beating heart out of this book.

The bright note is that this is so rough any change will be an improvement.
