Busy Blogger is Back

I'm sorry! I've been away from the blog more and more since NaNo.

This past week was insane. And I'm still not sure how I survived Saturday. I'm juggling several writing projects, some short story editing, and tossing in the usual holiday load on top of that. To be honest, blogging just hasn't been a top priority.

And reading blogs was ranked even below blogging. So, now, I have some catching up to do. This week I'm answering letters, responding to blog posts that caught my interest, and posting the remaining character scenes from NaNo.

First off, a big thank you to Tere and Sarah.

Tere, of The Lesser Key, awarded me the Honest Scrap honor... or, however you phrase that. With this goes the onus of listing ten facts about myself and sending the award out to ten people.

There is not a list of who has this award yet so I'm going to spend the day scouring my blog reading list and trying to decide who, of all the awesome blogs I read, doesn't have this award yet.

Meanwhile...
1. I love sharks. I've been bitten by a horn shark while diving in the Pacific, and I still love sharks.

2. I hate winter. I hate the cold. I hate the snow. And I hate how dead everything looks.

3. Despite ten years in the south and matriculating from an awesome alma mater, I do not have a college football team I root for. But it's cool that someone from 'Bama won the Heisman Trophy (even though I've never been there and my best friend is an Auburn fan).

4. If NASA was looking for volunteers to colonize another planet my name would be at the top of the list. I would love to travel in space and still kick myself for not going Air Force and becoming an astronaut.

5. I do not TXT. My phone is good to 60' underwater and nearly kid proof, but it doesn't do anything fancy and I'm happy with that. I love my computer. I don't love my computer on my phone.

6. I really don't like most YA books, but my friend recommended the Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter and my first thought was, "Unfair! I want to go to that school!" I may never let my children read Twilight, but I think this series is a good bedtime series.

7. It's no secret, but I hate wimpy and stupid characters. They make my eye twitch. I will adore any book with an intelligent MC and a decent villain. I like smart bad guys.

8. Despite going to high school in Colorado, I hate skiing.

9. My favorite dessert is vanilla creme brulee. But I'll settle for really good chocolate chip cookies.

10. After one semester of college I considered running away to get a job on a dive boat and work my way around the world. But I passed general chemistry and decided I could survive the rest.

And a thank you, too, to Sarah of The Babbling Flow of a Fledgling Scribbler for giving me the Superior Scribbler Award.

That's going to five people who will be announced later in the week.

  1. Congratulations on your blog bling!! :) We have two things in common: I hate cold/winter and also lived in the South. (Maybe those two things are related?)

  2. LOL, lady, I have to give you credit for still loving sharks after that! I'd probably never step in the ocean again!

  3. Tere- Horn sharks aren't very big. He nipped my finger and it looked like I had a vicious paper cut. But it's still a fun fact :o)

Amy- You may be on to something there...

  4. I don't know that I could even get into the water again if I were bitten by a shark! You is one brave woman!

  5. Angela- He was just a little thing! It's no different than falling off a horse and getting on again, or burning your hand in the kitchen and cooking again, or being in a car wreck and driving again.

And the shark hurt me a lot less than any of those things ever have :o)
